and strengthen European identity and solidarity. Some pro-Russian far-
right populist political forces have already distanced themselves from
the “Russian cause” and condemned the war. The war will force the
Union’s members to proactively find common positions in other areas.
Thus, the EU may become more “federal” and better positioned for
accelerating the completion of the project of the Unified Europe.
